This is the year that you will give the mom's in your life, yourself included, a gift that will last a lifetime.

Moms, when is the last time you had a picture with your children? I know some moms, myself included, will say, "Oh, I'm too fat or I don't look the way I want to" and bow out of pictures.  When will you ever look the way you want?  By that time, will you be too old? Will your children be grown?  Will your new excuse be "I look old, I have too many wrinkles"?

The time is NOW. Stop waiting for the "perfect moment" to exist in photographs for your children, exist in them NOW!  Life is so short, and you don't to look back and say "I wish I would have been in that picture".


I have no pictures of myself and my mom while I was growing up, I wish I did. I wish I saw how my mom was back then. Even if she thought she was overweight, I still see her as BEAUTIFUL! She's my mom and I want that memory of her for myself and my daughter.

Moms be present in pictures, leave an image of yourself  for your children and  future generations.  I believe every woman deserves at least one beautiful picture of herself AND I believe her children deserve at least one picture of themselves with their mom.

These sessions will be all about a mom and her love for her babies, so there will be no props or fancy backgrounds. Be prepared to laugh, snuggle, and love on your kiddos during the time we are together.  I recommend wearing a simple wardrobe of soft colors such as beige, soft grays, whites, creams, etc.
 

There are six (6) sessions total on May 18th. The first appointment will be at 9:30 and the last appointment at 1:00.  I am offering these mini sessions for $49 (regular session fee is $130) I will offer session times in the order that sessions are purchased; first come, first served.

Additional Information:

• Sessions are 20 minutes long; you will forfeit your session without refund if you are late or arrive unprepared
• A model release and signed photography contract is required.  These documents will be sent via email once payment is received. 
• A link to your gallery will be emailed to you within two weeks of the initial session where you will be able to make your selections.  You can call me or email me with your order.
• Galleries will be active for two weeks, at the end of the two weeks, ordering must take place at that time in order to take advantage of the sale price, an order date will be sent with your link
• Orders that are placed after said timeline will no longer be eligible for the discounts and will be full price
• Digital image(s) will be delivered via dropbox
• No refunds, exchanges, or returns
• Prices do not include taxes
• purchasing your session indicates agreement with these terms

I love photographing Tweens as I have the opportunity to document the transition from childhood to the teenage years. There is still that innocence in a tween and I enjoying being able to capture that. I had an awesome time doing this Tween’s Modern Beauty session in my home studio in Kent, isn’t Ayden gorgeous!? She has so much potential and I am looking forward to seeing her life unfolds!

I absolutely LOVE doing maternity portraits! This is such an amazing time in the lives of the parents to be and even more amazing for the mother as she can feel the baby’s every movement. When I was pregnant, for some reason, it didn’t even cross my mind to have pregnancy pictures taken. I was busy with appointments and getting the house ready. I wish I had slowed down long enough to enjoy that time and I wish I had beautiful pictures of myself so I can look back at that time now.
Don’t be me! Document this time in your life so you will have gorgeous pictures of yourself when you were pregnant! Celebrate the beauty of being pregnant. I know, you might be saying, ugh I’m fat and uncomfortable and don’t look good. WELL! That is where my team comes in! I have a very talented makeup artist and hairstylist who will pamper you and make you feel gorgeous! Take a day for yourself to have your hair and makeup done, to feel beautiful and let me help you document your pregnancy. You deserve this and you need a little bit of “me time” before your new baby comes. Embrace your new shape!

Rio Jean Photography - Richland, WA {High School Senior Portraits}

I have been thinking about doing some business in the Tri-City area (Richland, Pasco, Kennewick) as I travel there often. The most recent time I was there I decided to test out a hair/makeup artist who happened to my best friend when I was in elementary school! How cool is that!? I also was able to work with another childhood friend who’s daughter was our model for the day, we were able to do a “pre High School Senior” session as she wouldn’t officially be a senior until next year. I love these pictures, Emily is GORGEOUS! She did a fantastic job with being model! The image with the flowing dress, was something I have been trying to get for a while and I was finally able to get this image!

I love this little guy’s smile and his little chubby legs! Can you believe he is three months now, time is going by so fast with these babies. The picture with the soccer hat is so cute! It took him a bit to give me some smiles, but he eventually did. Happy Three months to this beautiful baby boy!

I decided to make the switch from cd to usb, I think you all would agree that CD’s are becoming a thing of the past! Plus, more computers/laptops don’t have a cd-roms anymore.
I received this in the mail the other day from PhotoFlash Drive and I absolutely love it! All of my paying clients will be receiving this nifty usb. The teal part of it is rubbery, I just want to bite it, I couldn’t stop touching it and playing with it. You want one of your very own, so you can bite it (and of course retrieve your pictures off of it), book a session with me! I know, I am weird for wanting to bite my USB.

Three months, can you believe it has been three months since this little cutie was born! I looked back at this little guy’s newborn pictures and I can’t believe how much his little face has changed! It really does go by fast!
Parents, document this time in your child’s life, have something to remember this time with! I have 15,000 ish pictures from Rio’s first year, and I LOVE looking back at her pictures! If you haven’t considered pictures for your little one and for your family, start thinking about it.
Anyways back to this little guy! He had a little cold when I saw him but he was still a cutie and getting chubby, I love watching babies get chubby Look at his little crossed feet! SO CUTE I could just eat him! LOL! Happy Three months to this little man!

Rio Jean Photography - Seattle, WA {Newborn Baby Portraits}

One of my friends, who I went to Jr. High and High School, with recently had her first baby! I really enjoyed catching up with her and seeing the newest additions to her family, I can’t believe it has been 17 years since I last saw her! Its crazy how time goes by.
Her newborn son was two weeks old when he came in and was wide awake for the whole session, which was nice as I like to be able to capture some pictures of newborn babies with their eyes open. I absolutely LOVE how these newborn pictures turned out! Beautiful new Momma and gorgeous little man. Congrats to the new parents!

Rio Jean Photography - Downtown Tacoma, WA {Urban Black and White}

I don’t know if I already said this in previous posts, but I LOVE Tacoma! I use to live in Stadium District and it was walking distance from my favorite pub(Doyle’s!), right down the street from the waterfront, a short run to my work(at the time I was working as an Esthetician at Savi Day Spa), and minutes from my school(I was working on my graduate degree at UPS). Can you say perfect!? I miss it so much! OH! I forgot to mention, it was close to all of the pizza joints and I love PIZZA! My husband and I actually went on out first date at Malarkey’s! So many good times and memories.
I was scouting some locations and of course my little model came with me that day! I really enjoy just walking around Tacoma, as you can turn down a street and see something different and fun.

Happy Birthday to Audrey Grace! I love this little girl, look at her cute little face covered in frosting! I photographed Audrey when she was a newborn and I can’t believe how much she changed in one year. Parents, hold your babies tight, remember this time in their lives because it is true, it goes way too fast!
Audrey was all business, no smiles, but she totally rocked her serious cake eating face. I have to say I am really enjoy the creativity for the first year cake smashing sessions I have photographed so far – check out the pink balloon backdrop! I am so not creative so thanks to the parents who bring me these ideas!
Happy 1st Birthday Audrey! Now go stuff your face in some cake!
