Rio Jean Photography - Year in review {Goodbye 2014!}

2014 was a pretty good year! I learned a lot more about my business and myself, I met so many wonderful families, businesses, and people.  I can’t thank you all enough, without you my business would not be in existence! Thank you a million times over for putting your trust in me to photograph the people whom you love most and to have the photographs I took of you become a part of your history.
 
It’s pretty amazing to me when I reflect on my business and what I do for people. I know I say this a lot, but it is so true, parents, hold your kiddos tight as they grow way too fast!  Document your kiddo’s journey through life, and you, yes you, be present in photographs for your kiddos!  No matter what stage you are in your life or how you may be feeling about yourself, do it for your kids!
Looking forward to 2015, I wish you all a Happy New Year, may your new year be filled with good health, good fortune,  lots of love, and of course many happy times!

Rio Jean Photography - Renton, WA {Family Portrait Session}

I had so much fun photographing my neighbors for their family portrait session.  Can you believe this is the first time in forever that this family has had their family portraits? Seriously, don't wait to have your family portraits done, kiddos grow way too fast and people we love aren't always going to be around!

I absolutely loved all of the fall colors at the gardens and I think it's even better when families take time to coordinate outfits, always makes for beautiful family portraits!

One perk about being a photog is that I have the inside scoop on other amazing and talented photogs!  (Yes I am behind on my fellow photog posts, so if you don't see yours yet, don't worry, its coming!)  My good friend Missy of Melissia Millan Photography took my husband and mine's pictures at a winery.  Ok Eastern Washing people, if you need a photographer, Missy is your gal!  AND she also specializes in Boudoir photography which would make an awesome gift for that significant other...or just for yourself!  We believe that EVERY woman deserves at least one beautiful image of herself.  Go check her out!

I had the opportunity to photograph my long time friends and now their precious baby!  So happy to photograph this family.  I love the fall and the crisp sunny days and of course the colors.  This day was breezy which made it freezing!  But Lisa and Lorien's daughter was a trooper!  Dressed in her cute furry vest and little boots, she braved the elements!  Love family sessions!

I love this little monkey! He was so serious and didn't give me any smiles  :(  Maybe next time!   Last time I saw Landon, he wasn't sitting up, now he is sitting up AND crawling around (he's a quick little monkey too!)

Rio Jean Photography - Maple Valley, WA {9 month old baby portraits}

I love this time of year!  We decided to head over to Carpinto's Pumpkin patch for this session and it was perfect!  I brought Rio with me and she and Liam had a blast lining up the pumpkins...all around the pumpkin tables.  It was so funny watching them as they were so excited!  Look at what two toddler brains can do when they concentrate! LOL!  This was such a fun 9 month session!

Do you remember playing with Rolly Pollies as a kid? I do!  They were so much fun to play with, now as an adult, I don't like having bugs crawl on me.  I was very excited for Rio to be able to play with rolly pollies and even more excited that Rio's Grandma, 할머니 (halmeoni is Korean  for Grandma) was going to be the one to introduce her to these fun bugs! Yay for me! No bugs on this hand!

I love that my mom has such a beautiful garden and that Rio is able to experience harvesting food from it!

Rio put her carefully collected rolly pollies in a container so she could inspect them all and keep her precious bugs.

Rio Jean Photography - Lakewood, WA {School Portraits}

I can't believe how much this young man has grown since last year! Time really is going so fast, Zavier is in 8th grade now, next year he'll be in high school! And I know that he has been wanting his hair braided for a while, so I like these pictures with his changed up hair style!  I did photoshop one picture for his mom..can't share it here, but lets say he had a bangin fro! LOVE!

I know I have said this numerous times, parents, hold your kiddos tight, one day they won't be babies anymore :(

 

Rio Jean Photography Kent, WA {Youth Soccer Photography - Not your traditional picture}

Rio is a wiener dog.  No Joke. At least when it comes to playing soccer!  My husband and I are coaching her team and I have to say, it is awesome! I love all of the kids on her team as they are so cute!  During the games Rio is usually facing the wrong way, at least one kiddo is sitting, and there are at least two more who are just chatting it up with each other on the field.  It is super cute!  If you have a little one who is around 3/4 get them into soccer, you will totally see what I am talking about. It's good comic relief and she gets her exercise on!

Of course me being a photog, I just had to do her soccer pictures and I absolutely love the way they turned out! I love the sun behind her as its a good symbol of the fire I know she has within her.

Not your average soccer picture, she looks fierce, sassy, and fun, that is who she is now. These pictures totally capture her personality.  Parents, you want a non traditional picture of your kiddo?
oh, and that black mark on her hand, its her cutie mark!

Rio Jean Photography - Maple Valley, WA {Bellies to Babies - 8 Month baby pictures}

Landon, Landon, Landon. What.a.little.cutie!  These pictures crack me up, look at his hair and there is one where he is chewing on his sock -  To precious!  So what is Landon up to nowadays?  He can pull his little body up (all of those baby push ups finally paid off! ) and he has a lot to say.
